On our route between San Francisco and Los Angeles, we can choose to do the whole trip along the coast, including the large cliff area called Big Sur. This will significantly extend the travel time in front of the option of going on the interior highway, as the winding road of the cliffs will lead us to not exceed 50 kilometers per hour of average speed.
Instead, we will enjoy beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. Now, this option is only worth it if the agenda of our trip is really not very tight and we are not really in a hurry. It's 100 kilometers ... but two hours of travel.
On this route, just when the cliffs are finished in the south, it is worth doing a stop at the viewpoint called Ragged Point Vista. Actually, in this viewpoint there is a restaurant and it is a usual point where tourist buses stop. This viewpoint is said to offer the best and most complete views of the cliffs of the Big Sur.
